Job Description: Job Summary The GSE Supervisor at AGI, located
at Miami International Airport (MIA), is responsible for overseeing
the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of all ground
support equipment (GSE). This role involves leading a team of
mechanics, ensuring that all GSE is serviced efficiently and
safely, and coordinating with other departments to support AGI's
operational needs. The GSE Supervisor will also manage maintenance
schedules, monitor equipment performance, and ensure compliance
with safety and regulatory standards. Job Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of GSE mechanics,
providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality
maintenance and repair work.
- Maintenance Oversight: Oversee all maintenance activities,
including routine servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance
on GSE such as tugs, tractors, belt loaders, ground power units
(GPUs), and other equipment.
- Electrical and Hydraulic Expertise: Provide technical support
and direction on complex electrical and hydraulic system repairs,
ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and manage maintenance
schedules to ensure all equipment is serviced regularly and is
available when needed. Coordinate with the Fleet and Operations
teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities
comply with AGI's safety policies and industry regulations. Conduct
regular safety inspections and audits to maintain a safe working
environment.
- Inventory Management: Monitor parts inventory and order
necessary components to ensure that the team has the tools and
supplies needed to perform their work effectively.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze equipment performance
data to identify trends, predict maintenance needs, and implement
improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all
maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, parts used,
and equipment performance metrics. Prepare reports for management
on equipment status and maintenance activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including
Operations, Fleet Management, and Planning, to support AGI's
overall operational goals. Facilitate communication between
mechanics and other teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process
improvements in GSE maintenance and operations. Implement best
practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the
maintenance team. Skills and Qualifications
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in supervising a team
of mechanics or technicians, preferably in a GSE or similar
environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical,
electrical, and hydraulic systems as they relate to ground support
equipment.
- Safety and Compliance: In-depth understanding of safety
standards and regulatory requirements related to GSE
maintenance.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and
time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple
priorities and schedules effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication
skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate with other
departments.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment
issues and make quick, effective decisions to resolve
problems.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in GSE
maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership
role. Preferred Experience
- Airport Environment: Previous experience working in an airport
environment, with familiarity with the unique challenges and
demands of GSE maintenance at a busy international airport.
- Technical Certification: Certification in automotive, diesel
mechanics, or a related field is preferred. Alliance Ground
