Position: Director of Federal Grants & ComplianceReports to: CEO
and Chief of StaffType of Job: Full-time (Exempt)Location: Hybrid
Remote (with travel to Fort Pierce, Florida, or stakeholder

DescriptionThe Director of Federal Grants & Compliance will oversee
SELF's federal grant portfolio, ensuring compliance with federal
regulations and maximizing the impact of federal funds awarded
through programs like the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF).
This role requires expert-level knowledge of federal grant
processes, CFR 200 regulations, and compliance requirements. The
ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and
project management skills and will work closely with senior
leadership, finance teams, program managers, and external
auditors.Key ResponsibilitiesFederal Grant Management:Oversee the
acquisition, management, and compliance of federal grants and
contracts, including procurement processes.Ensure timely and
accurate submission of grant applications, reports, and financial
documentation in accordance with federal regulations.Develop
strategies to maximize grant funding opportunities and optimize
resource utilization.Compliance and Reporting:Monitor changes in
federal regulations affecting grant compliance and make necessary
adjustments.Prepare and present reports on grant activities,
financial performance, and compliance status to senior leadership
and the Board.Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and
ethical conduct in federal grant management.Team Leadership:Provide
leadership and guidance to a team managing grant funds, compliance,
and reporting.Establish performance goals and foster a cohesive,
high-performing grant management team.Ensure SELF is complying with
funding agreements with EPA as Prime awardees as well as funding
agreements as sub-grantees. Ensure sub-awardees of SELF are in
compliance with sub-award terms and conditions.Stakeholder
Collaboration:Collaborate with program managers, finance teams, and
external partners to align grant activities with organizational
goals.Serve as the primary contact for federal grant-related
inquiries, audits, and reviews.Represent SELF in public meetings,
conferences, and networking events.Subrecipient Compliance:Oversee
compliance of sub-awardees and partners with federal oversight and
reporting requirements, such as EPA General Terms and
Conditions.Develop and implement sub-recipient compliance
strategies and provide onboarding and training.Community Engagement
and Impact:Support community engagement efforts in low-income and
disadvantaged communities (LIDACs), including the development of
Community Benefit Agreements.Promote the impact of GGRF (Greenhouse
Gas Reduction Fund)-- investments, highlighting benefits such as
increased energy security and reduced energy burdens.Program
Development and Oversight:Collaborate with senior leadership to
expand investment opportunities and align products with federal
funding requirements.Lead efforts to integrate data systems for
enhanced reporting on program impacts.Preferred
QualificationsKnowledge of and experience with clean energy
deployment and environmental infrastructure projects.Strong project
management skills demonstrated through launching new products,
services, or programs.Familiarity with CFR 200 regulations,
Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA), and Build America, Buy America
(BABA) requirements.Experience coordinating internal and external
stakeholders.Proven ability to negotiate financial and
impact-related outcomes.Strong writing and communication skills for
reporting to both internal and external audiences.Ability to work
independently and collaboratively, exercising judgment and
initiative.Proficiency in reporting, budget management, and data
analysis as per grant requirementsKnowledge of time tracking tools
and reporting tools to meet federal compliance is a plus. Education
and ExperienceBachelor's degree in environmental science,
engineering, economics, business administration, public
administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.5-7
years of experience in product management, program development, or
federal grants implementation, with a preference for clean energy
experience.Employment DetailsTravel: Up to 30% travel for meetings
and stakeholder engagement.Daily communication via phone, email,
video calls, and text.Ability to sit, stand, and lift supplies up
to 20 pounds.CompensationSalary Range: $150,000 - $175,000
(commensurate with experience).Comprehensive medical, dental, and
